Role Overview
We are looking to hire ambitious Glass Apprentices and Technicians to work on our team and help seasoned personnel on home or business projects. This position would suit individuals who are responsible, willing to learn, and dedicated towards putting their careers in the glass and glazing sector on a long term basis.
You will be working with seasoned installers and will gain hands-on experience in glass installations, custom glazing, repairs, and maintenance and be involved in the delivery of superior quality projects.
Role Responsibilities
Glass Installation & Support:
Provide help in installation, repair, and maintenance of glass systems, including windows, doors, storefronts, store mirrors, and custom jobs.
Safety Compliance:
Ethical and company (industry) safety standards. Keep the work place clean, safe and well organized always.
Tools & Materials Management:
Ready-prepared tools, materials and set ups on the job site. Help in loading, unloading, and sorting equipment.
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
Helping technicians to diagnose the problems with installations and study the correct methods of repair.
Documentation & Reporting:
Keep up with hours and materials and tasks. Keep project documentation at will.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with supervisors and colleagues in a manner that will help them to accomplish projects safely, on time, and to a high standard.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified to become a Glass & Glazing Apprentice or have experience.
- Experience in glass, glazing or other construction trades: two to three years.
- Principles of tools, materials and safety measures.
- Skills to read or acquire the skills of reading technical drawings and schematics.
- Good attitude, readiness to learn, and strong work ethics.
- Residential and commercial working experience.
- Class 5 driver licence and sound transportation.
- Capable, physically, of lifting and working with glass, in ladders, lifts and in confined areas.
It’s a Bonus If You Have:
- Successful completion of Glass/ Glazing Foundation programs.
- Hand and power tools experience.
- Safety credentials include First Aid, Fall Protection, or WHMIS.
